Helping Hands Towing and Recovery History
We started our adventure in October 2021 as an automotive repair shop as a way to make some extra money. While planning to add a tow truck to the mix we were given the opportunity to do so in July of 2022. We have grown from one older wedge bed tow truck. While using this particular tow truck up until December of 2023 when we purchased our first Freightliner rollback. This truck had to come out of service shortly after going into service for some major repairs. In February of 2024 we purchased our first new truck a 2024 International Rollback. This truck has been a great blessing to us. We will be picking up another new rollback (2025 International) in early January 2025. We hope to be able to continue to grow our business and make expansion as time goes on.
About the owners
Lyndsey and Wheeler meet in April 2018. At the time of their meeting Wheeler was driving a tow truck for Nabors I40 Service and Lyndsey was working for Lowes. In August of 2018 Wheeler left the tow business for approximately two years and went back to working on cars at Kinnaird's automotive. About a year and a half into his time working at the shop he took a part time job with Ron's Towing out of Sparta, TN working nights and weekends. In December of 2020 they lost their house to a house fire. Wheeler had been working throughout the night before and had laid down to rest when another person needed his assistance getting their car to the shop. After multiple times turning the call down Wheeler finally took the job. About 45 minutes into the call Wheeler received a call from a friend of his on the volunteer fire fighter that the house was on fire. After rushing home to determine it was their house it was time for Wheeler to take a break from everything and go back to one job. He never actually left Ron's Towing he would do on call weekends and assists when other drivers were having issues with certain calls. This lasted until the owner of the company had a tragic accident working on his own truck. Wheeler left the towing world again stating that he was done with the business. Shortly after Ron's passing Wheeler was asked to look at and fix a buddies Rollback. This is where the journey of our family-owned business started. Shortly after repairing and test driving the friend's rollback Wheeler was offered the financing needed to by his first tow truck (a 2000 Chevy 3500HD wedge bed), that a lot of people told him would not work out for what he wanted to do with it. In April of 2022 Lyndsey made the decision to leave Lowes and Wheeler was still working at the shop. The company had a driver that would drive during the day. Lyndsey took on the responsibility of dispatching the driver and other office duties. Wheeler would drive the truck nights and weekends when not at the shop. In December of 2022 the company bought its first rollback, a 1994 Ford Super Duty. This truck lasted them their first trip out in it and had to be towed back to the shop with a locked-up engine. A year later they bought the truck that Wheeler wanted from Ron's after his passing. This truck last about three months due to a blown head gasket and a injection pump going out on it. The company went back down to using just the wedge bed truck. December of 2024 came around to them receiving a call on the 30th of November that there was a kidney available for Lyndsey. After completing her third transplant it was decided that they would try to get into the truck in a box program so that the business would have a dependable truck. This came to life on February 12, 2024. In June of 2024 Wheeler made the decision to stop working on cars full time and jump in the driver's seat of one of the trucks during the day. After using the truck for a little less then 11 months the business asked Copart for a second truck and was awarded the second assignment. This truck was picked up in early January of 2025. Currently there are three employees Lyndsey Goley, Wheeler Goley and Clinton Ross JR. As stated, before Lyndsey does the office work and the dispatching on a daily basis. Wheeler and Clinton drive the trucks during the day and on call several days a week each. We hope to keep expending our business so that we can meet more of the needs of our customers.
